Personality is like a beach; all beaches are different in the same ways and
yet very much different in the same way. The beach that you left may not be the beach to
which you return, even when it is. Indeed the beach is a collection of
sand, stones, and life flowing through time, undulating beneath the tidal ebb and flow of
progression and regression; Always a new discovery, adventure, or story to be
lived. The beach is the product of weathering on the indigenous stone, the
interaction of flora, and fauna. Nature is the genetic endowment, a few
reactionary impulses from the collective unconscious, and nurture manifests
from the agitation and erosion of rocks against each other, of beaches over one
another as they move up and down the coastline. Just as each of our
experiences shape the nature and nurture of our previous existence, that
existence guides the future experiences. And yet when we so choose we can
build a castle in the sand, shape the beach, in an iterative and recursive
process the diligence of the individual can match that of the ocean in shaping
the works of time. Personally I enjoy sharing the beach, and sharing in
the personality of others, even more so since I come with the proper equipment.
